Assistant Housekeeping Manager

About the role

The Assistant Housekeeping Manager supports the Housekeeping Manager in delivering exceptional guest experiences on board. This role ensures the cleanliness, maintenance, and overall appearance of assigned staterooms, suites, lofts, and public areas, while upholding Royal Caribbean International’s brand and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Anticipate and fulfill guest needs in staterooms and public spaces.
• Maintain the look, feel, and upkeep of assigned areas, including top suites, lofts, decks, and pool deck.
• Oversee daily housekeeping operations, cleaning activities, and laundry standards.
• Provide direct support to the Housekeeping Manager to meet division objectives.
• Train, develop, and recognize supervisors and crew members, maintaining a strong floor presence.
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality, environmental, SQM, and USPH guidelines.
• Conduct all duties in a professional, courteous manner consistent with the Royal Way.

Required profile

• Minimum one‑year managerial experience in housekeeping within a large 4‑ or 5‑star hotel (500+ rooms), cruise line, or similar hospitality setting.
• Experience supervising a team of at least 10 employees.
• Education equivalent to a high school diploma or comparable training/experience.
• Extensive knowledge of proper cleaning techniques, chemical handling, and safety procedures.
• Familiarity with equipment use, personal protective equipment, and job safety analysis.
