Capital Tools Apprentice – Tool Management & Maintenance

About the role

The Capital Tools Apprentice supports the daily control, accountability, and condition of capital and controlled tools for Bahamas Grid Company. You will manage the tool crib, ensure tools are properly inspected, registered, issued, and maintained, and help keep accurate records for compliance and operational efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Receive, inspect, and register capital and controlled tools against purchase orders, verifying model, serial numbers, accessories, and condition.
• Maintain physical control of the secured tool crib, organize storage areas, and issue tools using scanned or keyed custody transactions.
• Perform return inspections, quarantine defective items, and conduct monthly condition and function inspections.
• Carry out basic preventive maintenance, including cleaning, lubricating, and visual checks.
• Coordinate repair, calibration, and certification activities, ensuring required documentation is available before tools are placed in service.
• Support monthly reconciliation, reporting, and cycle counts of the tool inventory.
