Communications Technology Specialist

About the role

The Communications Technology Specialist will act as the technical lead for the Corporate Communications Department, overseeing communication platforms such as Microsoft SharePoint and OpenText Exstream. The role supports employee engagement initiatives and delivers data‑driven, AI‑enabled communication solutions for internal and external audiences.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as subject‑matter expert for organization‑wide SharePoint upgrades and migrations.
• Manage and provide ongoing support for the OpenText (Exstream) platform.
• Enhance customer service engagement through automation, data‑driven approaches and AI‑enabled solutions.
• Track, analyze and improve employee usage of communication platforms.
• Organize, format and present content on SharePoint and other internal communication tools.
• Support creation of personalized client communications and monitor their delivery.
• Draft, edit and publish internal and external communications, including newsletters, announcements and employee updates.
• Maintain SharePoint and website pages to ensure accuracy, accessibility and user‑friendliness.
• Collaborate with IT, leadership and other departments to gather information and produce clear communication materials.
• Monitor KPIs and adjust strategies to optimise communication effectiveness.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Information Systems, Digital Communications or a related field.
• Minimum three years of experience leading enterprise technology or digital transformation initiatives.
• Strong problem‑solving instincts and ability to work independently.

Required skills

• Microsoft SharePoint implementation, migration and upgrade experience.
• Familiarity with OpenText Exstream (or comparable CCM platforms).
• Proficiency with Microsoft 365 and web content management or development platforms.
• Experience with automation tools and AI‑enabled communication solutions.
