Computer and Network Technician – IT Support

About the role

Bahamas Information Access Systems Limited (BIAS) is looking for a motivated, customer‑focused Computer and Network Technician to join its technical services team. The role involves hands‑on support for a variety of business clients, both on‑site and remotely, covering computer hardware, software and network environments.

Key responsibilities

• Provide on‑site and remote technical support to BIAS clients.
• Troubleshoot desktop, laptop, printer, software and connectivity issues.
• Install and configure computers, peripherals and business applications.
• Diagnose and resolve wired and wireless network problems, including routers, firewalls, switches and access points.
• Support Microsoft 365, Outlook and related business applications.
• Manage user accounts, password resets, permissions and access issues.
• Assist with VPN and remote‑access solutions, system updates and preventative maintenance.
• Participate in workstation deployments, network installations, upgrades and technical projects.
• Document service requests, configurations and resolutions, and escalate complex issues when needed.

Required skills

• Computer hardware and software troubleshooting.
• Microsoft Windows operating systems.
• Fundamental networking concepts: TCP/IP, IP addressing, DHCP, DNS, LAN/WAN, Wi‑Fi.
• Configuration of routers, firewalls, switches and wireless access points.
• Microsoft 365 and Outlook support.
• User account management, password resets and permission handling.
• VPN and remote‑access solutions.
• System maintenance, updates and preventative maintenance.
