Development Impact Director – Real Sector Operations

About the role

IDB Invest, the private‑sector arm of the Inter‑American Development Bank Group, is seeking a Director of Development Impact for its Real Sector Operations. Reporting to the Managing Director of the Development Effectiveness Office (DVF), you will lead the design, implementation and evaluation of impact‑focused initiatives across Latin America and the Caribbean.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the IDB Invest Impact Rating System (DELTA) and related supervision reports (ASR, XSR).
• Develop and apply sector‑specific impact models, ex‑post evaluations and data‑driven recommendations.
• Coordinate technical assistance and training on impact management for internal teams and external partners.
• Ensure transparent, timely reporting of development impact to internal and external stakeholders.
• Collaborate with other multilateral development banks on best practices in development effectiveness.

Required profile

• Advanced degree in economics, public policy, development studies or a related field.
• Extensive experience (8+ years) in development impact assessment, evaluation methodology and data analytics.
• Proven track record of leading impact‑focused projects in the private‑sector finance space.
• Strong understanding of Latin American and Caribbean development challenges.
