Housekeeping Supervisor

About the role

The Housekeeping Supervisor leads the Room Attendant, Public Areas Attendant and Laundry teams to maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and order throughout the hotel. Reporting to the Director of Housekeeping, the role combines operational oversight, staff development and close collaboration with front‑office and other departments to ensure guest satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement efficiency strategies for the housekeeping and laundry departments.
• Assign daily tasks, inspect work, and ensure compliance with cleanliness standards.
• Prepare and submit performance reports to the Director of Housekeeping and Public Areas.
• Manage inventory and coordinate maintenance of guest rooms and cleaning supplies.
• Train new and existing staff on company policies and proper use of cleaning equipment.
• Conduct employee performance evaluations and address service complaints.
• Liaise with front‑office management to guarantee rooms are ready and fully furnished for guests.
• Collaborate with internal departments to support overall guest experience.

Required profile

• Associate degree or higher preferred.
• Previous experience in housekeeping or a related hospitality role.
• Ability to work independently while meeting high‑performance standards.
• Physical ability to stand for long periods and perform manual tasks.
• Professional appearance and willingness to work rotating shifts in a 24‑hour operation.

Required skills

• Operation of cleaning equipment such as buffers, carpet shampoos and vacuum cleaners.
• Cleaning techniques for surfaces including marble, vinyl tile and wood.
• Inventory management of cleaning supplies and stock ordering.
