Human Resources Manager

About the role

An established upper‑midscale hotel in the Bahamas is seeking an experienced, people‑focused Human Resources Manager to lead the property’s HR function. Reporting to the General Manager, you will partner with department heads, support employees, and build a positive, accountable workplace culture.

Key responsibilities

• Manage recruitment and selection across all hotel departments, from sourcing to onboarding.
• Partner with leaders to identify staffing needs and support workforce planning.
• Handle employee relations matters, including concerns, conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, grievances and investigations.
• Provide coaching to managers on performance management, policy interpretation and leadership practices.
• Coordinate performance‑management processes and address performance gaps.
• Identify training needs and arrange learning opportunities for staff and supervisors.
• Develop, communicate and administer HR policies ensuring compliance with Bahamian labour legislation.
• Maintain confidential employee records, HR reports and oversee benefits, attendance and leave administration.
• Drive employee engagement, recognition and retention initiatives.
• Support succession planning and provide workforce insights to hotel leadership.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Hospitality Management or related field (preferred).
• 3–5 years of progressive HR experience, preferably in hospitality or service‑industry settings.
• Experience as HR Manager, Assistant HR Manager or HR Business Partner.
• Working knowledge of Bahamian employment and labour practices (strongly preferred).
• Professional HR certification or designation is an asset.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, coaching and conflict‑resolution abilities.
• Excellent judgment, confidentiality and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced hotel environment.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Familiarity with HRIS or other HR technology platforms.
