Prep Cook

About the role

We are looking for a reliable Prep Cook to join our kitchen team. The successful candidate will support cooks with basic food preparation, maintain a clean work environment, and help ensure smooth daily operations.

Key responsibilities

• Assist cooks with washing, chopping, portioning and other basic food preparation tasks.
• Maintain kitchen cleanliness by washing dishes, utensils and equipment, and sanitising counters, workstations and floors.
• Receive, store and organise food supplies and ingredients, monitoring inventory and reporting shortages.
• Follow food safety, hygiene and health regulations at all times.
• Support kitchen staff during busy service periods and work flexible shifts, including opening or closing, weekends and holidays.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Prior experience in a kitchen or hospitality environment is an asset but not required.
• Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team.
• Strong attention to cleanliness, hygiene and food safety standards.
• Physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift supplies up to 25‑30 lb.
• Flexibility to work opening or closing shifts, weekends and holidays.
