About the role
EV Motors is looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to oversee key accounting processes across multiple locations, ensuring accurate and timely financial records. The role is hands‑on, covering general ledger, month‑end close, inventory, lease accounting and audit support while collaborating closely with the Financial Controller.
Key responsibilities
- Maintain general ledger accuracy through timely journal entries, reconciliations, adjustments, and supporting documentation.
- Manage month‑end close components including accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank and credit‑card reconciliations, accruals, prepaids, fixed assets and intercompany transactions.
- Keep balance‑sheet accounts fully reconciled and maintain supporting schedules.
- Support the preparation of accurate financial statements and management reports.
- Reconcile inventory records between the DMS and the general ledger and prepare inventory and COGS schedules.
- Monitor and investigate COGS, inventory adjustments, write‑offs, shrinkage and other costing discrepancies.
- Handle lease accounting activities such as lease schedules, reconciliations, payments, depreciation/amortisation, unearned income and residual values.
- Prepare variance analyses with commentary on significant trends or unusual activity.
- Support KPI reporting and ad‑hoc financial analysis.
- Prepare schedules and documentation for external audits and financial reviews.
- Assist in strengthening accounting processes, internal controls, policies and reporting efficiency.
- Provide guidance and review support to junior accounting staff.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
- Minimum of five years of senior‑level accounting experience.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and general ledger accounting.
- Excellent analytical, reconciliation and problem‑solving abilities.
- High attention to detail and ability to identify and resolve discrepancies.
- Strong organizational and time‑management skills.
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of accounting processes.
- Capability to perform effectively in a fast‑paced, high‑accountability environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
