Senior SQL DB Technician

About the role

We are looking for a Senior SQL DB Technician to lead the administration, optimization, security, and availability of mission‑critical Microsoft SQL Server databases. You will work closely with developers, infrastructure teams, and business stakeholders to ensure reliable, high‑performing data platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Install, configure, upgrade, and patch Microsoft SQL Server environments.
• Plan capacity, manage storage, and forecast growth.
• Design, implement, and test backup, recovery, and disaster‑recovery strategies meeting RTO/RPO targets.
• Monitor performance, tune queries, indexes, and database architecture.
• Implement security controls, encryption, auditing, and role‑based access.
• Configure and support High Availability solutions such as Always On Availability Groups, Failover Clustering, Replication, and Log Shipping.
• Oversee data imports/exports, migrations, and SSIS integration projects.
• Diagnose incidents, perform root‑cause analysis, and document resolutions.

Required profile

• Extensive experience administering Microsoft SQL Server in enterprise environments.
• Strong knowledge of HA/DR technologies and performance‑tuning techniques.
• Proven ability to design backup/recovery plans and enforce security best practices.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills and ability to work with cross‑functional teams.
