Senior SQL DB Technician

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Senior SQL DB Technician to lead the administration, optimization, security, and availability of mission‑critical Microsoft SQL Server databases across our insurance and financial services organization. You will work closely with developers, infrastructure teams, and business stakeholders to ensure reliable and high‑performing data platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Install, configure, upgrade, and patch Microsoft SQL Server environments.
• Plan capacity, allocate storage, and forecast growth.
• Design, implement, and test backup, recovery, and disaster‑recovery strategies meeting RTO/RPO targets.
• Monitor performance, tune queries, indexes, and stored procedures, and conduct regular health checks.
• Implement security frameworks, role‑based access, encryption, and auditing to meet compliance requirements.
• Configure and support high‑availability solutions such as Always On Availability Groups, Failover Clustering, Replication, and Log Shipping.
• Support infrastructure upgrades, migrations, and database consolidation projects.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Senior SQL Server Database Administrator.
• Deep knowledge of high‑availability, disaster‑recovery, and performance‑tuning techniques.
• Strong understanding of security, compliance, and data integrity best practices.
• Ability to collaborate with cross‑functional teams and communicate technical concepts clearly.
