Systems Engineer

About the role

The Systems Engineer will join Cloud Carib’s Command and Control Centre (C3) to deliver expert‑level support for client infrastructures. Working within an ITIL‑compliant service desk, you will own complex incidents from detection through resolution, ensuring high‑quality service across Windows, Linux, Unix and other platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose and resolve issues related to HTTP, SMTP, DNS and other application flows.
• Monitor and troubleshoot server performance using native OS tools.
• Design, build and maintain OS clusters and RAID configurations in virtualised environments.
• Develop and maintain scripts in PowerShell, Bash or Python to automate tasks.
• Administer web servers (IIS, Apache, Nginx) and Exchange 2013‑2016 mail systems.
• Create, maintain and de‑commission virtual servers, and perform database backup and restore operations.
• Apply server hardening techniques following industry security standards.

Required profile

• 3‑5 years of hands‑on experience in server operations within a service‑provider environment.
• Strong problem‑solving abilities and a proactive approach to client communication.
• Ability to manage incidents end‑to‑end and document resolutions clearly.
