Underwater Target Electronics Technician I

About the role

We are looking for an MK‑30 Underwater Target Electronics Technician I to join Amentum’s team at the Atlantic Undersea Test and Evaluation Center (AUTEC) on Andros Island, Bahamas. This one‑year position provides hands‑on experience with testing, repair and maintenance of underwater target electronic systems and serves as a stepping stone toward an Electronics Technician II role.

Key responsibilities

• Perform detailed testing procedures to diagnose equipment malfunctions.
• Disassemble components and trace circuit continuity through equipment stages.
• Repair circuit wiring and replace faulty components as needed.
• Under supervision, execute authorized modifications, preventative maintenance, and final testing of equipment.
• Install tracking systems in accordance with NAVSEA specifications and guidelines.
• Maintain a controlled supply area for the MK‑30 program within the Range Support Shop.
• Troubleshoot and repair a variety of electronic systems.
• Perform other job‑related duties as assigned.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• At least one year of electronics technology experience.
• Two years of experience with Microsoft Office Suite, emphasizing word processing.
• Hands‑on experience with multimeters, function generators (AFGs) and oscilloscopes.
• Ability to lift, push, pull or carry up to 50 lb.
• Willingness to reside in a remote location with limited medical facilities.
• Valid U.S. passport and driver’s license.
• U.S. citizenship required to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Government clearance.
