Vehicle & Generator Mechanic (Paradise Island)

About the role

The Vehicle & Generator Mechanic is responsible for operating, inspecting, repairing and maintaining the main and portable generators, fuel distribution system, and associated vehicles at Royal Beach Club Paradise Island. The role requires strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail and a safety‑first mindset.

Key responsibilities

• Perform daily inspections, preventive maintenance, oil and filter changes, and log activities for generators and vehicles.
• Troubleshoot and repair engine failures, switchgear (automatic and manual), and auxiliary equipment.
• Operate and monitor the main switchboard, reporting discrepancies to the Assistant Technical Manager.
• Conduct emergency generator repairs and manage spare parts usage efficiently.
• Use multimeters, pressure testers, welding tools (TIG & MIG) and perform steelwork as required.
• Carry out quality control tests, pump maintenance, and gas‑powered tool servicing.

Required profile

• High school diploma or technical equivalent with at least 3 years of progressive technical experience in a ship or industrial environment.
• Minimum 2 years of hands‑on experience with diesel generators, engines and electrical systems.
• Ability to read blueprints, work orders and maintain accurate logs.
• Physical capability to lift up to 50 lb, work in hot, humid outdoor conditions and perform emergency procedures.
• Clear spoken and written English for interaction with guests, team members and contractors.

• Basic PLC understanding and power logging.
• Blueprint and schematic interpretation.
