Assistant Director of Housekeeping

About the role

The Assistant Director of Housekeeping supports the Director in managing all aspects of the housekeeping department at SLS Baha Mar. This position ensures immaculate guest rooms, public areas and back‑of‑house spaces while driving operational efficiency and guest satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Director in overseeing housekeeping operations, including guest rooms, public areas, laundry and back‑of‑house zones.
• Conduct daily inspections of rooms, VIP arrivals, suites and public spaces to verify brand standards.
• Supervise housekeeping supervisors, room attendants, housepersons, laundry and public area staff.
• Coordinate room availability with the Front Office and reconcile status reports with the Property Management System.
• Respond promptly to guest requests, complaints and service recovery opportunities.
• Support recruitment, onboarding, training and performance management of housekeeping team members.
• Lead pre‑shift meetings, communicate goals and promote a positive work environment.
• Perform regular quality inspections and provide immediate feedback to maintain high standards.

Required profile

• Proven experience in hotel housekeeping operations, preferably in a supervisory or managerial role.
• Strong leadership and coaching abilities with a focus on team development.
• Excellent communication skills and a guest‑service orientation.
• Ability to work collaboratively across departments and manage multiple priorities.

Required skills

• Familiarity with Property Management System (PMS) for room status tracking.
