Kitchen Steward – Grand Bahama (Contract)

About the role

The Kitchen Steward will ensure the cleanliness and hygiene of the kitchen, storage areas and related equipment at our DHG Dietary facility in Grand Bahama. Reporting to the lead chef or kitchen supervisor, you will follow strict sanitation standards and support daily food‑service operations.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain a clean, organized kitchen and dining areas at all times.
• Operate pot‑washing machinery and industrial dishwashers, ensuring proper chemical levels.
• Clean and sanitize all kitchen equipment, utensils, floors, walls and storage units.
• Collect and dispose of waste according to recycling and safety guidelines.
• Perform routine inspections, report hazards, and document cleaning activities.
• Manage inventory of cleaning chemicals and update breakage registers.
• Assist with general housekeeping tasks such as sweeping, mopping, and emptying bins.

Required profile

• Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 2 years of experience in a similar kitchen cleaning role.
• Valid driver’s license and current health certificate.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lb frequently and stand for long periods.
• Professional attitude, punctuality and adherence to company policies.

Required skills

• Industrial dishwasher operation.
• Knowledge of Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and proper chemical handling.
• Ability to maintain cleaning records and prepare reports.
