Lead Architect

About the role

The Ministry of Innovation and National Development is looking for a Lead Architect to provide architectural leadership across its national development projects. You will shape concepts from early site analysis through detailed construction documentation, ensuring designs meet strategic, environmental, and regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Lead site planning and master‑planning assignments, including land‑use, circulation, density and integration with infrastructure.
• Conduct site analyses (topography, utilities, environmental constraints) and translate findings into planning recommendations.
• Develop conceptual designs, massing, spatial organisation and design direction for large‑scale projects.
• Advance concepts through schematic design, design development and produce construction‑ready drawings.
• Manage drawing standards, version control and coordination across disciplines.
• Review external consultants’ drawings for quality and compliance.
• Oversee permitting processes and coordinate with regulatory authorities.

Required profile

• Accomplished design professional with substantial master‑planning experience.
• Proven record of producing large‑scale architectural drawings for buildings.
• Ability to shape development concepts at early stages and carry detailed documentation through permitting to construction.
• Strong understanding of climate‑responsive, resilient, energy‑efficient and accessible design.
