Pastry Chef – Luxury Club Dining

About the role

Southworth is seeking a creative and highly skilled Pastry Chef to lead the pastry and dessert operations at The Abaco Club. You will design and produce a wide range of desserts, pastries, breads, and baked goods for à la carte dining, special events, and banquets in an upscale, member‑focused environment.

Key responsibilities

• Create and execute high‑quality desserts, pastries, cakes, breads, and other baked goods for daily service and special functions.
• Develop seasonal dessert menus that reflect the club’s standards and member preferences.
• Collaborate with the Executive Chef and culinary team on banquet and event planning.
• Manage pastry production, including ordering, inventory, and cost control.
• Train, supervise, and mentor pastry assistants or support staff.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized pastry kitchen in compliance with health and safety regulations.

Required profile

• Degree or certification from an accredited culinary or pastry arts program.
• Minimum 3–5 years of professional pastry experience in fine dining, hospitality, or club environments.
• Strong knowledge of traditional and contemporary pastry techniques, including bread baking, chocolate work, and sugar art.
• Proven leadership and team development skills.
• ServSafe certification or equivalent food safety training.
