Resort General Manager – Private Island, Bahamas

About the role

Lead the business and brand of an award‑winning private island resort in the Bahamas. The role combines five‑star hospitality leadership with the operational grit required for remote island environments.

Key responsibilities

• Own financial performance: drive RevPAR, ADR and GOP while safeguarding the guest experience.
• Set and uphold service standards across Rooms, Food & Beverage, Spa/Wellness, Activities/Marine and Engineering.
• Manage island logistics: coordinate ferry and seaplane schedules, supply‑chain flow and vendor relationships.
• Lead safety, risk and compliance, including hurricane preparedness and resilience planning.
• Elevate guest personalization and boutique programming to boost reviews, loyalty and repeat bookings.
• Recruit, train and develop a multi‑national team, handling workforce planning, succession and work‑permit processes.
• Oversee capital planning, budgeting and project delivery for FF&E, OS&E, utilities (generators, desalination), preventative maintenance and sustainability initiatives.
• Represent the property with ownership, partners and the local community.

Required profile

• 8‑12+ years leading luxury or boutique resorts, preferably island or remote properties.
• Proven record of improving margins without compromising guest experience.
• Calm, hands‑on, visible leadership trusted by guests and staff.
• Working knowledge of engineering systems such as generators and desalination, plus logistics and regulatory compliance.
• Talent magnet who coaches leaders, raises standards and holds teams accountable.
• Data‑driven operator fluent with PMS/POS dashboards and operational KPIs.
• Fluent English required.
