Senior Managing Director

About the role

The Senior Managing Director leads Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve, the flagship private‑island destination in The Bahamas. Reporting to corporate leadership, this executive holds full P&L responsibility and oversees hospitality, guest experience, commercial activities, infrastructure, and marine logistics.

Key responsibilities

• Provide executive oversight of all island operations, including F&B, retail, excursions, marina, and infrastructure.
• Lead multidisciplinary teams and align shipboard, corporate, and third‑party partners.
• Drive operational excellence, business continuity, risk management, and crisis preparedness.
• Own guest experience strategy, monitor NPS and performance metrics, and continuously improve service quality.
• Identify and scale new revenue‑generating opportunities across excursions, retail, and ancillary services.
• Support long‑term master planning, capacity growth, capital investments, and sustainability initiatives.
• Lead a high‑performing, diverse workforce, partnering with HR on talent development and succession planning.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, security, and environmental standards.
• Build strong relationships with Bahamian government, local communities, regulators, and strategic partners.

Required profile

• 20+ years of senior leadership experience in complex hospitality, destination management, or luxury resort environments.
• Proven track record of full P&L accountability and driving sustainable growth.
• Strong financial acumen with experience in budgeting, CapEx planning, and financial governance.
• Ability to navigate high‑touch, multicultural environments and foster an inclusive culture.
• Commitment to environmental stewardship and responsible tourism.
