Tracking Controller – Air & Water Systems

About the role

The Tracking Controller will manage real‑time air and water range tracking systems for the Atlantic Undersea Test and Evaluation Center (AUTEC) on Andros Island, Bahamas. Reporting to the Test Operations Manager, the role ensures tracking operations support naval test and training missions.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and monitor real‑time tracking systems to meet test requirements efficiently.
• Review test operation documents, including directives, test plans, and classified messages.
• Coordinate tracking requirements with down‑range personnel before, during, and after tests.
• Participate in range safety briefs, pre‑test meetings, and scheduling sessions.
• Prepare and staff tracking stations in the Real‑time Display Center as dictated by operational directives.
• Maintain real‑time logs and generate deficiency and utilization reports.
• Provide technical evaluation of tracking issues and propose alternative solutions.
• Exercise independent judgment to balance customer demands with company objectives.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, Electronics or equivalent (or 3 years relevant military/commercial experience).
• U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.
• Ability to work in air‑ and water‑based environments, including boarding range craft and aircraft.
• Strong written and oral communication skills in English.
• Capability to work independently and within multidisciplinary teams.

Required skills

• Working knowledge of real‑time tracking, acoustical and communication systems.
• Familiarity with US Navy vessel performance and anti‑submarine warfare tactics (a plus).
• Computer literacy in a Windows environment, including Microsoft Outlook.
• Ability to manage close‑vision work on computer screens.
