Waste Management Lead – Celebration Key, Bahamas

About the role

The Waste Management Lead oversees safe, compliant, and efficient handling, processing, and disposal of waste—including hazardous and liquid waste—across designated sites at Celebration Key. The role ensures adherence to environmental regulations, company policies, and safety standards while leading a team of Waste Management Technicians.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise daily activities of Waste Management Technicians.
• Develop and implement waste management plans and procedures aligned with regulatory and company standards.
• Ensure proper handling, categorization, and documentation of hazardous waste.
• Conduct regular inspections and audits of waste management operations.
• Train staff on safety protocols, equipment use, and waste handling procedures.
• Liaise with environmental agencies and vendors for waste disposal and compliance.
• Maintain records and prepare reports on waste volumes, incidents, and compliance metrics.
• Assist with incident investigations and corrective actions related to waste operations.
• Recommend improvements to waste handling processes and equipment.
• Support sustainability initiatives and environmental performance goals.

Required profile

• Strong leadership and team‑management abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Detail‑oriented with a proactive problem‑solving approach.
• Physically fit and able to work outdoors, stand for long periods, and handle shift schedules.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle vendor financial documents securely.
