Waste Management Technician – Celebration Key, Bahamas

About the role

The Waste Management Technician ensures safe, efficient and compliant handling, treatment and disposal of liquid and hazardous waste at Carnival Corporation’s Celebration Key destination. The role supports environmental standards, minimizes risk to people and property, and contributes to the resort’s sustainability objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with waste collection, handling and processing on site.
• Process hazardous materials, including testing, categorization, bulk handling, lab packing and preparation of shipping documents.
• Operate, maintain, troubleshoot and coordinate repair of electrical, mechanical and heavy waste‑management equipment.
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory, safety and environmental requirements and complete accurate reporting.
• Provide first‑aid support, conduct inspections and deliver training on waste‑handling procedures.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED; equivalent experience accepted.
• Minimum two years of experience in a technical maintenance environment, preferably in a hotel or related industry.
• Technical or hazardous‑waste certification.
• Physically fit and able to work outdoors.
• Fluent in conversational English with strong written and verbal communication.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
