Wellness Director

About the role

The Wellness Director oversees daily operations of the spa, fitness centre, locker rooms, and retail areas within a luxury resort or club. This senior leader coordinates services, manages staff, and drives financial performance while ensuring exceptional guest experiences.

Key responsibilities

• Select merchandise and vendors, manage retail product research, purchasing and display.
• Monitor actual and projected sales, control expenses, and ensure revenue goals are met.
• Maintain cleanliness of spa, fitness, locker and boutique areas and equipment.
• Develop and coordinate special group programs, promotions, and holiday events.
• Oversee payroll, budgeting, and controllable expenses such as linens, amenities and supplies.
• Hire, train, and appraise staff; implement orientation and performance‑appraisal processes.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of management experience in luxury resort/club environments, preferably in spa or fitness.
• In‑depth knowledge of fitness, health and wellness professions and industry trends.
• Strong customer‑service orientation with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with spa point‑of‑sale (POS) systems.
• Advanced computer literacy, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Competence with email and internet applications.
