Accounting Assistant

About the role

The Accounting Assistant supports the finance team by handling both accounts receivable and payable tasks, maintaining client and vendor records, and preparing regular financial reports.

Key responsibilities

• Answer phones, respond to client/vendor inquiries, and maintain up‑to‑date electronic and physical files.
• Prepare deposits, monthly invoices, purchase orders, petty cash reconciliations, and month‑end reports within specified deadlines.
• Process customer accounts, post daily payments, and monitor accounts receivable, including collections for overdue balances.
• Assist with accounts payable monitoring, vendor invoice processing, and ensure timely payments.
• Conduct quarterly customer surveys on maintenance services and perform inventory spot checks.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or at least 2 years of accounts receivable/payable experience.
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, client service, and problem‑solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, taking initiative when needed.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Experience with QuickBooks accounting software.
