Accounts Payable Officer

About the role

The Accounts Payable Officer will be responsible for processing vendor invoices, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of payments, and maintaining detailed financial records. The role supports the Finance Department in compliance with company policies and financial guidelines.

Key responsibilities

• Perform day‑to‑day financial transactions, including sorting, verifying, classifying and accurately recording accounts payable data.
• Ensure invoices for purchases of goods and services are supported by purchase orders and pay all approved invoices before due dates.
• Prepare payment requisitions for approval, process and maintain accounting journals, ledgers and other records.
• Prepare daily and monthly reconciliations, including vendor and credit‑card reconciliations.
• Research, track and liaise with external vendors and internal departments to respond to invoice or payment queries.
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies by reconciling vendor accounts and monthly statements.
• Compile data and prepare various financial reports and support month‑end and year‑end closing, including audit support.

Required profile

• Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration.
• 1‑2 years of experience in a similar accounts payable role.
• Sound understanding of accounting principles, expense accounts and cost centres.
• Strong organizational, verbal and written communication skills with attention to detail.
