About the role
An upper‑midscale resort in The Bahamas is seeking an experienced Assistant Resort Manager to support day‑to‑day operations. The role focuses on operational execution, guest experience, service standards, property condition, and cross‑departmental coordination. It is a hands‑on, visible leadership position working closely with the General Manager and department heads.
Key responsibilities
- Provide hands‑on oversight of daily resort operations across Food & Beverage, Front Office, PBX and Bell Services.
- Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms, public areas, restaurants, grounds and parking, and ensure corrective actions are taken.
- Monitor guest feedback, recurring complaints and service concerns, supporting service recovery and follow‑up.
- Coordinate across departments to improve communication, workflow, accountability and operational efficiency.
- Oversee Food & Beverage operations, including quality, presentation, cost control, inventory and waste management.
- Ensure Front Office, PBX and Bell Services deliver professional arrival, check‑in, assistance and departure experiences.
- Work with Housekeeping and Engineering to monitor room readiness, maintenance priorities and property standards.
- Promote teamwork, hold managers accountable for standards and coach leaders to address operational issues proactively.
- Monitor inventory, identify waste and support budgeting, forecasting and expense control.
Required profile
- Minimum 5 years progressive hotel or resort operations experience, with at least 2 years in an operational leadership role.
- Strong working knowledge of hotel operations, especially Food & Beverage, Front Office and Rooms Division.
- Previous experience in a resort or full‑service hotel environment preferred.
- Proven ability to manage multiple operational areas, coach teams and hold staff accountable.
- Understanding of guest service recovery and strong communication, problem‑solving and conflict‑resolution skills.
- Working knowledge of budgeting, cost control, inventory management and operational financial performance.
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail and ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, guest‑focused environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and hotel operational systems.
- Degree or professional qualification in Hospitality Management, Business Administration or related field preferred.
