Director of Home Services

About the role

Baker's Bay Golf & Ocean Club, part of Discovery Land Company, is seeking a Director of Home Services to join its Facilities Department. The Director provides overall leadership, strategic direction and financial accountability for the Home Services department, which covers the Annual Services Program, the Condominium Association maintenance program and project work at member residences. The role is based at the club in Great Guana Cay, Abaco, The Bahamas.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the main point of contact for members on home construction, renovation and building issues, and guide them to qualified contractors, architects and engineers.
• Monitor active member projects, review contractor work for quality and keep members informed.
• Own the growth of the Annual Services Program: develop an annual plan to enroll new homes, set pricing and service offerings, and ensure the program is financially self-sustaining.
• Lead and supervise the Home Services Manager and the wider team, including technicians, the COA maintenance team and support staff.
• Oversee the Annual Services Program and the COA maintenance program, including the HVAC quarterly services initiative, home inspections and preventive maintenance, and maintain the structural integrity of homes.
• Prepare and manage the department's annual operating and capital budgets, oversee accounts payable, payroll, purchasing and inventory, and negotiate and manage vendor and service contracts.
• Report regularly to executive leadership on department performance, ASP growth and major member projects.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in construction management, facility management, engineering, architecture or business; equivalent experience considered.
• 10+ years of experience in residential construction, estate or property management or facilities management, preferably in a luxury residential, resort or private club setting.
• 7+ years of management-level leadership, including responsibility for a department budget.
• Demonstrated experience managing residential construction or renovation projects from design through completion.
• Professional certification (e.g. PMP, CFM, FMP) preferred.

Required skills

• Knowledge of residential construction methods, building systems and materials suited to a coastal, tropical environment.
• Ability to read construction drawings, specifications, contracts and engineering reports.
• Familiarity with Bahamian building codes, permitting and community design review processes.
• Proficiency preferred in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, ADP, DocuSign and maintenance management software such as Limble.
