Fire & Safety Technician – Celebration Key

About the role

The Fire & Safety Technician supports the HESS Manager and Safety Supervisor in delivering and maintaining safety programs at Carnival’s Celebration Key destination in the Bahamas. The role ensures operational compliance, conducts inspections, assists with emergency preparedness and promotes a culture of prevention across port operations.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct safety inspections of workplace and guest areas, perform job observations and monitor emergency equipment and PPE compliance.
• Assist with fire safety checks, drills, incident investigations, risk assessments of new equipment and substances, and oversight of contractors’ safety practices.
• Participate in cross‑functional emergency drills, maintain emergency supplies and documentation, and support execution of response protocols.
• Maintain accurate records, support data analysis, collaborate with external vendors, and complete assigned tasks in the maintenance software.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in environmental, public health or safety is preferred.
• 1–3 years of experience in HESS‑related roles or operational support functions.
• Strong organizational, time‑management and communication skills; ability to work collaboratively in a team‑oriented environment.
• Physically fit, able to work outdoors, stand for long periods and follow shift schedules as needed.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience using data entry and reporting tools.
• Familiarity with safety standards such as ISO 45001 and OSHA.
