About the role

The Gourmet Hostess creates the first impression for restaurant guests at The Ocean Club, a Four Seasons Resort in the Bahamas. The role requires thorough knowledge of menus, ingredients and guest preferences, and involves greeting, seating and coordinating reservations to ensure a seamless dining experience.

Key responsibilities

• Assign service stations to staff and verify compliance with appearance and uniform standards.
• Check table settings for proper presentation and completeness before service.
• Seat guests, provide menus, and introduce the server, balancing customer flow and special requests.
• Communicate menu changes, specials, and service updates to staff verbally.
• Inspect the restaurant for orderliness, taking corrective action when standards are not met.
• Greet guests warmly upon arrival, escort them to tables, and manage seating preferences.
• Handle guest complaints promptly and politely, informing the manager of any incidents.
• Oversee dining room operations during service, gather guest feedback, and make adjustments as needed.

Required profile

• Must possess thorough knowledge of all menu items, ingredients, and guest preferences.
• Legal ability to work in the Bahamas without sponsorship.
