MK-30 Underwater Target Technician I

About the role

Amentum is seeking an MK-30 Underwater Target Electronics Technician I to support the Atlantic Undersea Test and Evaluation Center (AUTEC) on Andros Island, Bahamas. This one‑year position offers hands‑on experience with underwater target electronics and a pathway to an Electronics Technician II role.

Key responsibilities

• Perform detailed testing procedures to diagnose equipment malfunctions and conduct final testing of repaired systems.
• Disassemble components, trace circuit continuity, repair wiring, and replace faulty parts.
• Execute authorized modifications, preventative maintenance, and install tracking systems per NAVSEA specifications.
• Maintain a controlled supply area for the MK‑30 program and troubleshoot a variety of electronic systems.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• At least one year of electronics technology experience and two years using Microsoft Office Suite (focus on word processing).
• Ability to lift, push, pull or carry up to 50 lb and reside in a remote location with limited medical facilities.
• U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Government Clearance.

Required skills

• Proficiency with multimeters, function generators (AFGs) and oscilloscopes.
• Digital and analog circuit troubleshooting.
• Microsoft Office Suite (word processing).
