Residential Technician

About the role

The Abaco Club, part of Southworth's portfolio of private communities in The Bahamas, is hiring a Residential Technician. The technician performs preventive interior and exterior home maintenance, including monthly, bi-monthly, quarterly and annual services and inspections assigned by the Homeowner Services Manager. The role keeps homes and club facilities to the highest standards, working with Homeowners Representatives, Housekeeping, Front Desk and Reservations, and helps resolve punch-list items.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate with the Homeowner Services Manager and Assistant Manager on home-related issues and follow up with the relevant departments.
• Assist with the installation and setup of new homes as needed.
• Inspect homes at least five days before member and guest arrival, checking air filters, shower heads, bathroom hardware, kitchen appliances, HVAC, light fixtures, bulbs, fans, internet/TV, septic systems, door locks, propane levels, plumbing, grills and reported issues.
• Perform monthly, quarterly and annual maintenance services according to the Management program, recording them in the designated app with work done, materials used and time spent.
• Maintain the interior and exterior of homes, including pools and pool equipment.
• Assist with golf cart and vehicle maintenance and cleaning as assigned, and support maintenance of club outlets and facilities.
• Complete other duties assigned by management.

Required profile

• At least 2 years' experience in a similar or related role.
• Physical ability to stand, bend and lift up to 30 lbs for extended periods.
• Availability to work weekends and holidays as required.
• Self-motivated, able to work independently, with a professional demeanor and strong teamwork skills.

Required skills

• Excellent written and verbal organisational and communication skills.
• Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, flexible schedule.
• Knowledge of standard maintenance policies and procedures.
