Restaurant General Manager

About the role

This full‑time, on‑site position leads a vibrant, high‑energy restaurant in Nassau, The Bahamas. The General Manager is accountable for overall success, ensuring exceptional service, operational excellence, and a motivated team.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee all front‑of‑house and back‑of‑house operations to drive efficient, profitable performance.
• Lead by example in delivering outstanding customer service and maintaining a welcoming guest experience.
• Recruit, train, supervise and motivate staff, fostering teamwork, accountability and excellence.
• Manage budgets, cost controls and financial reporting to maximise profitability.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, sanitation and licensing regulations.
• Coordinate with kitchen and service teams to guarantee timely food preparation and quality standards.
• Handle customer inquiries, feedback and complaints professionally.
• Develop and implement operational strategies and promotions to boost sales and loyalty.
• Maintain vendor relationships, oversee ordering, inventory control and quality assurance.
• Schedule staff effectively based on business needs and forecasted volume.

Required profile

• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in restaurant management (General Manager or Assistant GM preferred).
• Proven leadership and team‑management abilities.
• Strong understanding of restaurant operations, financials and guest‑service standards.
• Excellent communication, organisational and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, customer‑facing environment.
• Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends and holidays.

Required skills

• Proficiency with POS systems.
• Experience using scheduling tools.
• Competence in general business software.
