Senior Accountant – 6-Month Contract

About the role

The Senior Accountant will support the Finance & Accounting team on a 6‑month contract, focusing on full‑cycle Accounts Payable, credit‑card reconciliations, month‑end workpapers and balance‑sheet reconciliations. The role ensures accurate vendor payments, audit‑ready documentation, and contributes to ERP design, testing and implementation.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the end‑to‑end Accounts Payable cycle, including invoice receipt, verification, coding, posting and vendor payment runs.
• Review vendor statements, resolve discrepancies, respond to inquiries and maintain professional vendor relationships.
• Reconcile the AP sub‑ledger to the general ledger and ensure compliance with company policies and internal controls.
• Reconcile corporate credit‑card statements to receipts, expense reports and GL detail, preparing related journal entries.
• Prepare monthly reconciliations and supporting workpapers for assigned balance‑sheet accounts, ensuring they are audit‑ready.
• Support audit requests, documentation and process‑improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• 2–5 years of accounting experience with proven expertise in Accounts Payable and month‑end reconciliations.
• Ability to handle confidential employee, vendor and financial information with accuracy and integrity.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks or Meridian.
