Senior Accountant

About the role

The Senior Accountant will be based in Nassau and report to the Financial Controller. This position is responsible for daily financial reconciliations, ledger maintenance, and supporting the preparation of management accounts and regulatory filings.

Key responsibilities

• Perform daily reconciliation of bank and cash accounts and assist staff with corrections and postings.
• Maintain the general ledger, update accruals, pre‑payments and fixed‑asset schedules.
• Execute monthly reconciliations of operating and financial systems.
• Prepare monthly management accounts, including variance analysis and inter‑departmental data collection.
• Assist the Financial Controller with annual budget preparation.
• Support internal and external audits on a yearly basis.
• Handle monthly and quarterly reinsurance and regulatory filings.

Required profile

• Recognised accounting qualification (CA or CPA) with at least 5 years post‑qualification experience.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities with solid knowledge of accounting standards and industry regulations.
• Advanced proficiency in MS Excel.
• Excellent communication, organisational skills and meticulous attention to detail.

Required skills

• MS Excel (advanced user level).
• Sage Intacct.
