Senior Turnaround & Restructuring Specialist (Insolvency) - BBC

About the role

EY's Financial Services Office (FSO) offers integrated assurance, consulting, strategy & transactions and tax services to clients in asset management, private equity, banking and capital markets, and insurance. Its BBC segment covers the Bahamas, Bermuda, British Virgin Islands and Cayman Islands. The Strategy & Transactions (SaT) team advises clients on preserving, optimizing, raising or investing capital. This senior role sits in the Turnaround & Restructuring services team, focusing on insolvency and restructuring, and is based in Bermuda, working from the wider region when needed.

Key responsibilities

• Execute restructuring, liquidation and/or insolvency procedures under the supervision of managers, directors and partners, and help define the engagement scope
• Build internal and external relationships, anticipate risks, escalate issues and ensure high-quality client delivery
• Prepare analysis and reports for clients and present findings
• Work as a team member, keeping senior colleagues updated on progress
• Support onboarding of new clients and day-to-day work on ongoing engagements within budget
• Build strong relationships within SaT and across other services

Required profile

• Professional accounting certification (ACA, CA, CPA or equivalent) or a recognized insolvency qualification, actively pursued
• At least 3 years of recent experience in restructuring and common law liquidations, in a Big 4 or boutique restructuring/insolvency firm, with demonstrated leadership and business development skills
• Commercial acumen, awareness of industry drivers and detailed financial and commercial analysis
• Ideally: knowledge of financial services market issues, appreciation of risks in distressed business advice, and experience on project-based teams
