Food Service Specialist

About the role

The Food Service Specialist will support the Atlantic Undersea Test and Evaluation Center (AUTEC) mission on Andros Island by delivering high‑quality food service, maintaining a clean dining environment, and ensuring compliance with health and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Operate point‑of‑sale (POS) systems, handle cash transactions and provide excellent customer service.
• Prepare, assemble, cook, and serve menu items according to predetermined recipes.
• Monitor food inventory, order supplies, and ensure freshness and proper storage of all ingredients.
• Maintain cleanliness of the dining room, kitchen, pantry, and equipment; perform dishwashing and waste segregation.
• Collaborate with material coordinators and supervisors to replenish stock and address equipment or facility issues.
• Follow U.S. Public Health Service, FDA Food Code, and site safety policies to safeguard assets and maintain a safe workplace.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 2 years experience as a cook in a restaurant, banquet or buffet setting.
• Bahamas citizenship (position reserved for Bahamian citizens only).
• Strong customer‑service orientation and ability to work in hot, humid conditions.
