Automotive Mechanic III – Atlantic Undersea Test Center

About the role

Amentum is looking for an experienced Automotive Mechanic III to support the Atlantic Undersea Test and Evaluation Center (AUTEC) on Andros Island, Bahamas. The role involves maintaining a wide range of vehicles and equipment in a remote, high‑security environment.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose, repair, and perform preventive maintenance on all types of vehicles and related equipment.
• Respond to emergency “road” calls, maintain tools, and ensure proper documentation of all work performed.
• Prepare parts requisitions, use hand and power tools, and operate electronic diagnostic equipment, including Snap‑on scan tools.
• Repair or assist with crane maintenance in accordance with Navy Crane Center regulations.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of diagnostic and mechanical repair experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent; ASE certifications preferred.
• U.S. citizenship with ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.
• Physical ability to lift up to 75 lb, work on uneven terrain, and endure loud environments.

Required skills

• Automotive electrical systems troubleshooting.
• Use of Snap‑on scan and other electronic diagnostic tools.
• Hand and power tool operation.
• Crane repair procedures per Navy standards.
