Landscape Construction Manager

About the role

CTL Maritime, part of the MSC Group, is looking for a Landscape Construction Manager to oversee landscape, hardscape, irrigation, lighting, site furnishings and related site development works across its projects in The Bahamas. Acting as the owner's representative in the field, the role manages landscape contractors, coordinates with project teams and stakeholders, and ensures work follows approved design intent, quality standards, schedules and budgets. It is the primary field extension of the Landscape Architect and requires regular site presence and travel between projects, with residence in Freeport, Grand Bahama.

Key responsibilities

• Manage landscape construction from mobilization through handover, overseeing planting, irrigation, lighting, hardscape, pathways, shade structures and site furnishings.
• Coordinate landscape contractors, specialty subcontractors, consultants, suppliers and nursery partners.
• Review drawings, specifications, shop drawings, material samples, mock-ups and submittals for compliance with design intent.
• Provide construction administration support: RFIs, submittals, material reviews, site observations, punch lists and contractor coordination.
• Inspect sites regularly, direct contractors on methods and materials, and approve field adjustments to planting, grading, paving, irrigation and lighting in coordination with the Landscape Architect.
• Monitor quality of planting, horticultural practices, irrigation, hardscape and finishing works; coordinate tree procurement, relocation, specimen planting and establishment.
• Review grading and drainage, track progress and identify risks to schedule, quality, budget and constructability.
• Collaborate with project managers, architects, engineers, operations teams, facilities and landscape maintenance teams, and prepare progress, observation and handover reports.
• Support warranty inspections, establishment and defect liability period activities, and help develop operational landscape standards and asset management strategies.
• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental and local regulatory requirements.

Required profile

• Degree in Landscape Architecture, Landscape Design, Horticulture or a related discipline (strongly preferred).
• At least 5 years of experience in landscape architecture, landscape construction management, construction administration or site development, including overseeing installations and contractor coordination.
• Experience delivering landscape and public realm projects in resort, hospitality, waterfront, destination or remote island settings.
• Fluent English; ability to live in and obtain a work permit in The Bahamas.
