Superintendent-General Construction

About the role

A construction and project management firm delivering custom luxury residences, boutique resorts, private island properties and commercial developments across the Bahamas and the wider Caribbean is looking for an experienced Superintendent. The role provides direct leadership of field operations for luxury residential, hospitality, resort and commercial projects, covering day-to-day site management, scheduling, subcontractor coordination, quality control and project administration. It is a hands-on leadership position suited to complex island construction.

Key responsibilities

• Manage daily field operations, including site utilization plans, staging areas, access plans and material control systems
• Coordinate utilities, temporary facilities, deliveries and site access, and schedule and lead subcontractor coordination meetings
• Take part in preconstruction planning, constructability reviews, project startup and mobilization
• Develop and update the project schedule, coordinate trade sequencing and monitor progress against milestones
• Direct subcontractors and trades, monitoring their performance, productivity, schedule adherence and quality
• Support cost controls, maintain field documentation and coordinate with project management on RFIs, submittals and change conditions
• Maintain a strong safety and quality culture, conduct regular inspections and uphold high craftsmanship standards

Required profile

• Significant experience as a Construction Superintendent managing complex projects from mobilization through completion
• Background in high-end residential, luxury hospitality, resort or commercial construction
• Ability to manage subcontractors, trades, schedules, materials and field personnel
• Experience in preconstruction and project startup
• Willingness to relocate to or work from Nassau, Bahamas, with travel to project sites as required
• Remote island projects and international construction experience are highly desirable

• Salary of $125,000 - $175,000 per year, based on experience
