Senior Construction Manager - Cruise Terminal, Freeport

About the role

CTL Maritime, part of the MSC Group, is building cruise terminals and destinations worldwide. The Senior Construction Manager reports to the Senior Project Manager and manages the routine construction functions at CTL Maritime's building site(s) in Grand Bahama, from notice to proceed through final construction and handover. The role requires travel and residence in Freeport, Grand Bahama, with at least 5 days per week onsite; a work permit is provided if required.

Key responsibilities

• Manage design-build teams, contractors, subcontractors and stakeholders to meet deadlines, contractual milestones and permit conditions
• Lead daily site operations so projects stay on schedule, within budget and to specification
• Ensure compliance with quality, health, safety and environmental regulations and local codes
• Coordinate with the design-builder to secure building permits and their conditions
• Oversee importation of materials and equipment and procurement timelines
• Review contracts, drawings and construction documents, manage the project budget and process change orders
• Negotiate with external vendors and prepare progress reports, meeting agendas and minutes
• Manage construction close-out, final certificates of occupancy, project acceptance, handover and the defects and liability period

Required profile

• Minimum 10+ years of relevant construction management experience
• Resorts development and/or private destination island experience; cruise industry project development highly desirable
• BS degree in Engineering, Architecture or Construction Management; PE or equivalent license a plus
• Experience in design-build and alternative delivery methods such as Guaranteed Maximum Price
• PMP or equivalent certification a plus
• Fluent English; ability to relocate to Freeport or work 4-5 days per week there, or on an 8/2-week rotation
