Accounts Payable Clerk

About the role

The Accounts Payable Clerk ensures timely and accurate payment of vendor invoices, applying discounts and credits while maintaining compliance with VAT and company policies. This role supports the finance team by handling invoice matching, vendor inquiries, and payment processing.

Key responsibilities

• Review matched vendor invoices, verify quantities received, and resolve 3‑way match discrepancies.
• Ensure invoices meet VAT requirements and Sysco Purchase Order policies.
• Prepare and approve vouchers, check and wire disbursements for payment.
• Process inter‑company billings and follow up on corrective actions.
• Respond to vendor inquiries regarding skipped invoices or short payments.
• Maintain accurate A/P registers, bank disbursement records, and filing systems for audits.
• Monitor discount opportunities and apply credits to payable balances.
• Provide high‑level internal customer service with a sense of urgency.

Required profile

• 3‑5 years of experience in Accounts Payable.
• Proficiency with accounting/financial management software (AS/400 preferred).
• Strong attention to detail, organizational and analytical abilities.
• Ability to handle confidential information discreetly.
• Effective teamwork and initiative.
