Freelance Data Center Support Technician (Level 1)

About the role

We are looking for a freelance Data Center Support Technician (Level 1) to provide on‑site technical assistance for data‑center and enterprise IT environments. The role is assignment‑based, allowing you to accept dispatches that match your availability and skill set.

Key responsibilities

• Perform on‑site support for PCs, laptops, servers, monitors, phones and other peripherals.
• Execute Smart Hands tasks, including hardware installation, replacement, integration and basic troubleshooting.
• Assist with structured‑cabling, LAN connectivity, switches, routers, firewalls and access‑point issues under remote engineering guidance.
• Support backup systems, tape libraries and Microsoft Exchange environments.
• Document activities, troubleshooting steps and provide status reports after each assignment.

Required profile

• 2–5 years of experience in data‑center, desktop support or IT infrastructure.
• Strong ability to work independently on‑site while coordinating with remote teams.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.

Required skills

• PC and server hardware troubleshooting.
• Structured cabling and peripheral installation.
• Basic LAN networking, switches, routers, firewalls and access points.
• Smart Hands operations.
• Backup infrastructure, tape libraries and Microsoft Exchange support.
• Nutanix hardware replacement (mandatory training provided).
