MIS Systems Administrator

About the role

The System Administrator manages, maintains, and troubleshoots DHHS’s rapidly expanding infrastructure, ensuring new business applications and services run smoothly. This senior‑level position also serves as an internal escalation point for technicians and service‑desk staff while designing and overseeing cloud systems for optimal performance, security, and availability.

Key responsibilities

• Install, configure, test and maintain operating systems, application software and system management tools.
• Monitor all installed systems and infrastructure, ensuring high availability and performance.
• Develop and maintain security, backup, redundancy and disaster‑recovery procedures, supporting the enterprise’s Business Continuity Plan.
• Design, implement and optimise cloud platforms, managing CPU, memory and storage utilisation.
• Automate routine tasks to increase efficiency and reduce manual intervention.
• Install and maintain CCTV (IP cameras, NVRs) and other IoT devices.
• Provide 2nd and 3rd level support, coach technicians and service‑desk associates.
• Participate in on‑call rotations and support MIS during natural disasters.
• Configure firewalls, routing, switching and VPNs to maximise network security.
• Manage asset and inventory control systems and liaise with vendors for issue resolution.

Required profile

• Professional attitude: punctual, badge‑wearing, compliant with organisational policies and dress code.
• Ability to work shifts, travel to multiple sites across New Providence and globally, and lift up to 50 lb for hardware installations.
• Willingness to be on‑call for critical issues outside normal hours, including weekends and holidays.
