Safety Supervisor – Half Moon Cay (Bahamas)

About the role

The Safety Supervisor will lead occupational health and safety activities at Half Moon Cay, a Carnival Corporation destination in the Bahamas. Reporting to the HESS Manager, the role ensures compliance with regulatory standards through daily inspections, emergency preparedness, and team leadership.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the HESS Manager in developing and implementing OHS programs aligned with regulations.
• Conduct routine safety inspections and job observations, issue reports and corrective actions.
• Manage Permit‑to‑Work processes for high‑risk activities (hot work, confined space, work at height, LOTO) and verify field controls.
• Oversee chemical safety, including SDS management, labeling, storage compatibility and spill response readiness.
• Coordinate emergency equipment maintenance (AEDs, first‑aid kits, oxygen cylinders) and ensure availability.
• Supervise a frontline safety team, assign tasks, monitor performance and provide hands‑on guidance.
• Facilitate new‑hire safety onboarding, toolbox talks and contractor compliance monitoring.
• Track safety KPIs and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Proven experience in occupational health and safety within a maritime or hospitality environment.
• Strong knowledge of regulatory standards and best practices for safety inspections, risk assessments and incident prevention.
• Ability to lead and coach a team, communicate hazards clearly and enforce compliance.
• Detail‑oriented with strong organizational skills for documentation and permit management.
