Accounts Payable Clerk

About the role

The Accounts Payable Clerk processes vendor invoices, maintains accurate financial records, and ensures timely payments to suppliers. This position supports the organization’s accounting operations while handling confidential financial information in line with company policies.

Key responsibilities

• Receive, verify, and process supplier invoices for payment.
• Prepare payments via checks and electronic transfers and record them accurately in the accounting software.
• Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies promptly.
• Maintain accurate accounts payable records and supporting files.
• Onboard vendors according to company policies and procedures.
• Communicate with vendors regarding payment inquiries and account reconciliation.
• Assist with month‑end and year‑end closing activities.
• Prepare accounts payable reports as requested by the manager.

Required profile

• Associate degree, diploma, or certificate in Accounting, Finance, Bookkeeping, or a related field (preferred).
• Minimum of one year of experience in accounts payable, bookkeeping, or general accounting.
• Strong numerical and analytical abilities with attention to detail.
• Effective organizational, time‑management, and communication skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with accounting software.
• Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
• Experience with ERP systems, including Sage.
• Working knowledge of accounting principles and accounts payable processes.
