Assistant Marine Technician – Half Moon Cay, Bahamas

About the role

The Assistant Marine Technician supports the maintenance, repair, and operational readiness of vessels and marine equipment at Half Moon Cay, a Carnival Corporation destination. Working under senior technicians, you will assist with inspections, troubleshooting, and routine servicing to keep marine operations safe and efficient.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in preventive and corrective maintenance on engines, propulsion, steering, and auxiliary systems.
• Support diagnostics of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues under supervision.
• Perform basic servicing tasks such as oil changes, filter replacements, lubrication and adjustments.
• Help maintain and organize tools, spare parts, and workshop equipment.
• Inspect and test safety equipment (life jackets, fire extinguishers, alarms) to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Support environmental protection measures, including proper handling and disposal of oils, fuels and waste.
• Provide on‑site technical assistance during vessel start‑up checks and operational troubleshooting.
• Assist in logistics for scheduled maintenance, ensuring parts and materials are ordered and available.
