Logistics Broker – Import Tariff & Customs Management

About the role
The Logistics Broker is responsible for assigning accurate tariffs to imported goods, determining duty rates, securing all import documentation, submitting electronic entries, posting transactions in the ERP, and applying all associated import costs.
Key responsibilities
- Secure invoices, bills of lading and permits for each shipment.
- Validate bill of lading costs and resolve over‑ or under‑charges with carriers.
- Prepare cost‑allocation spreadsheets detailing vendors, PO numbers and non‑duty costs.
- Execute customs documentation and ensure shipments comply with all applicable laws.
- Facilitate determination and payment of duties and taxes.
- Submit and manage entry filings on the Bahamas Single Window (BESW).
- Post freight, accessorial, shipping and local fees to purchase orders in the ERP.
- Maintain electronic brokerage files per manifest for future access.
Required profile
- Licensed or trained Customs Broker with at least two years of experience in logistics brokerage, costing, inventory management or purchasing.
- Strong leadership, communication and problem‑solving abilities; ability to work with Logistics Supervisors, Senior Brokers, Receivers, Buyers and Store Operations.
Required skills
- Customs brokerage certification or equivalent training.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
