Assistant Storekeeper (Inventory)

About the role

The Assistant Storekeeper supports inventory management by receiving, storing, and distributing consumables, tools, and equipment across the destination. Working closely with the Inventory Manager, the role ensures compliance with public health, safety, and company SOPs while maintaining accurate stock records.

Key responsibilities

• Read loading schedules, work orders and requisitions to determine items to be moved or distributed.
• Operate a forklift safely to transport materials between loading areas, storerooms and designated locations.
• Open, sort and store items on racks, shelves or in bins according to size, type or product code, including refrigerated storage for perishable goods.
• Weigh or count items, record receipts and issues, and maintain up‑to‑date inventory records.
• Assist the Inventory Manager with slop chest inventory, merchandising and cycle counts, following FIFO principles.
• Keep the work area clean, adhere to public‑health standards and greet guests and team members courteously.

Required profile

• High school diploma and ability to perform basic math.
• Minimum one year of inventory or storekeeping experience, preferably in an upscale hotel, resort or cruise ship environment.
• Valid driving licence and ability to operate a forklift.
• Knowledge of PPE, manual handling, public‑health and chemical management procedures.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work independently in a diverse international setting.
