Cook – Grand Bahama

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Cook to join our DHG Dietary facility on Grand Bahama. The role involves preparing hot and cold entrees, baked goods, and customized meals for patients, staff, visitors, and catered events within the hospital complex.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and plate hot and cold meals, including special‑diet modifications.
• Assemble patient meal trays, serve cafeteria customers, and cater internal functions.
• Requisition, receive, and store foodservice supplies; rotate stock using FIFO.
• Maintain kitchen sanitation by cleaning equipment such as stoves, grills, fryers, ovens, and small appliances.
• Label and date leftovers, record refrigerator temperatures, and use a food thermometer to verify cooking and holding temperatures.
• Operate meat slicer, portion food accurately, and initiate dietary charge slips for special trays.
• Report faulty equipment promptly and care for all kitchen tools and supplies.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; culinary training preferred.
• At least one year of food‑service experience, preferably in a hospital or hospitality setting.
• Current Health Certificate.
• Reliability, professional appearance, and adherence to organizational policies.
